Maldives Islands

The Maldives or Maldive Islands, officially Republic of Maldives, is an island country in the Indian Ocean formed by a double chain of twenty-six atolls stretching along north-south direction off India’s Lakshadweep islands, between Minicoy Island and Chagos Archipelago. It stands in the Laccadive Sea, about seven hundred kilometres (435 mi) south-west of Sri Lanka. The atolls of Maldives encompass a territory spread over roughly 90000 square kilometers, making it one of the most disparate countries in the world. It features 1192 islets, of which two hundred islands are inhabited. The Republic of Maldives capital and largest city is Malé, with a population of 103693 (2006). It is located at the southern edge of North Malé Atoll, in the Kaafu Atoll. It is also one of the Administrative divisions of the Maldives. Traditionally it was the King’s Island, from where the ancient Maldive Royal dynasties ruled and where the palace was located. ( source Wikipedia )

Foreign couple mocked and insulted In Maldives Wedding ceremony, MARRIAGE ABUSE

I posted the video and the deliberately “Provocative” description to engender a debate. I have to say, you have’nt let me down! Muslim bashing is alive and well. Your comments have made this channel the most “viewed” and “discussed” channel on youtube. Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts. Even though some of them are plain dumb! Some are intelligent, touching and inspirational. Thanks God bless you all. Added 31/10/2010 Comments left by user “ttowntom” which sum up my views. @CharlieBrown: “Any group of people that felt a socialite was stepping off of their pedestal to slum with them would want to turn the tables”. A very astute observation. As a tourist myself, I’ve seen this countless times. A similar experience once happened to me…and it was in a predominantly Catholic country, not an Islam one. It’s nothing but simple human nature. @duffys, I think it does matter. This couple didn’t want a legal, official, binding ceremony. They wanted something “quaint”, with “local color”. Had they
