Hilton Iru Fushi Maldives room tour — King Water Villa

Lots of info in the full description, so click it to see: Here’s a room tour of a King Water Villa at the Hilton Maldives / Iru Fushi Resort & Spa, soon after check in. Built just over two years ago (2008), the hotel was originally built by an independent investor as the Iru Fushi Resort, but the economy led it to be leased to the Hilton group (which also has a Waldorf Astoria and Conrad property in the Maldives). Like all major Maldives resorts, this is located on its own island and has two rows of these “water villas” in addition to the beach rooms and is located in the Noonu Atoll, about a 40 minute seaplane flight from Male (you are required to use the very expensive seaplane). If you want my honest opinion: you have to take into account that, once you factor the very high price of food and beverages and the mandatory flights, the per-night cost here is roughly 00 per night. For that price, I’d give the room a 9/10 but the resort is only 7/10. The food quality isn’t as good as the prices, and the service was good but uneven. For that price (which makes a guest rightfully picky) I expect the same or better service than what I’ve seen at places like the Encore Las Vegas, and that really wasn’t the case here. The snorkeling, however, was as awesome as you’d imagine! I hope this helps you make a decision on where to stay, see what’s available, or just provides entertainment! [please excuse the fleck of dust that managed to make it inside my camera; I was using the

Hilton Maldives Resort & Spa, Rangali Island

The epitome of tropical paradise. The Maldives or Maldive Islands, officially the Republic of Maldives, is an island nation consisting of a group of atolls stretching south of India’s Lakshadweep islands between Minicoy Island and the Chagos Archipelago, and about seven hundred kilometres (435 mi) south-west of Sri Lanka in the Laccadive Sea of Indian Ocean. The twenty-six atolls of Maldives encompass a territory featuring 1192 islets, of which two hundred and fifty islands are inhabited.

Velassaru, Maldives

Maldives April 2010 Running time 3 mins 16 sec Video I took during a week in the Maldives in April 2010. We didn’t do much, which of course is the point of staying on a tiny tropical island - you can stroll around Velassaru with your feet in the sea in less than 20 minutes. We divided our time between sitting on the beach, swimming and snorkelling in the lagoon, keeping cool in our bungalow during the fierce midday sun, more swimming and beach-bathing, before eating exquisite food every evening and doing it all again the next day. There were some majestic thunderstorms at night which lit up the sea like daytime and reminded us that we were on a tiny speck in the middle of the vast Indian Ocean. There was also a day when it rained heavily for an hour, which freshened the air a little, but mainly it was baking hot, bright, sunny, and most important of all, peaceful. Stationed along the beach were three (according to my book of Sri Lankan birds) Western Sea Egrets. When not resting in the shade of a beach umbrella, they would occasionally catch a tiny black and white sea snake or some little fish from the waters edge, all the while keeping an eye on the other egrets making sure they weren’t encroaching on their bit of beach. Foraging through the undergrowth were White-breasted Waterhens. Cute and utterly tame birds that were our almost constant companions. There was lots of other wildlife as well; fruit bats, ghost crabs, various lizards, and of course, a great abundance of
