President concludes visit to Fuvahmulah and Addu Atoll

President Mohamed Nasheed has returned to Male’ on Sunday evening, after concluding his visit to Fuvahmulah and Addu Atoll.

President Nasheed’s visit to these two Atolls was to inaugurate the workshop on decentralization which was held at the two atolls. During his visits, the President highlighted on the importance of decentralization, and noted that the support and cooperation of all stakeholders were necessary to make this a successful reality.

During his visit to Fuvahmulah, the President also met with the people. President Nasheed on Sunday morning, met with the senior members of associations of Fuvahmulah.

President Nasheed discussed with the members, the work that they carry out and the main obstacles they face.

Highlighting on the important contributions of associations in the development of the islands, the President said that with decentralization of administration, the management of clubs and associations would widen and improve.
