Maldives to honor Queen Elizabeth II

President Nasheed had said that during his recent meeting with Queen Elizabeth II, he had expressed Maldives desire to bestow Queen a decoration.

During a press conference held after the conclusion of President’s visit to UK, he said that he hasn’t brought the kind of Award that had already been brought previously.

President also said that the Queen is very good at remembering the details and that she still remembers the details of the 1973 visit to Maldives.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth , Royal Air Force Base in Gan Addu Atoll-1973.

He said that during the visit her ship had rescued some fisherman who was being drifted and during the recent meeting Queen questioned about them.
She also questioned about the wellbeing of the student who told a story in English, during her visit to Aminiya School.

He also said that the Queen is very thorough about the Maldives and Queen welcome him warmly and that her hospitality was excellent.
